The name of the place is Ca’ Macana. It was opened in 1980. You can see beautiful handmade Venetian masks and much more there. It is used to produce and sell masks according the Venetian tradition. In the shop expert craftmen make authentic handmade masks in the same way Venetian artisans would do 800 years ago. On the other hand, they never repeat a decoration, so each mask is unique. The masks of this shop were featured in important film productions like Eyes Wide Shut by Stanley Kubrick and theatres like the Vienna Opera Haus.
From Piazzale Roma follow the signs to Campo Santa Margherita to get there.Visit it to admire the handmade Venetian masks and learn about the history of them. You can also make your personalized mask and learn how to do it!
